Latin 3 Class Block 3; Thursday 6 Dec 2012

1.   Your first order of business today will  be to work as a group and finish the story ADVENTUS which we started yesterday. Those of you who have prepared the boxes will present them to the class and explain any grammar items which are important for the others to understand. Answer any questions that arise. Review together the plot events of the story. Tomorrow you will have a short quiz on the story details and a small selection of questions to answer about the Latin. Keep ADVENTUS  in your possession for review and study until the beginning of class Friday and then turn it in before the quiz.

2.   Get the story SALUTATIO 1 from Ms. Delk and divide the 16 boxes (lines 1-3; line 4-6; lines 7-9, lines 10-12; and lines 13-16)  between the five of you; circle on your paper the box numbers that you are each preparing individually. Prepare your sentences individually.  Then gather as a group and ask each other about any difficulties you have encountered with your boxes and finish your individual translations.  Then, work together as a group to present your portion of the story and answer any questions that others may have.  Finish up this session with a run through of characters and narrative events in the story and take any notes you might need for a future quiz on SALUTATIO 1.  Tomorrow, after the ADVENTUS quiz you will finish the 2nd part of the SALUTATIO story.

3.  Use the remainder of the period:

     A)  to study Flashcards Online  (see WindsorLatin  links posted 5 Dec 2012)  for the Tuesday Dec 11 Test on Chapters 29-30; or

     B) complete Vocab 31 and Reading Comprehension Questions on The City of Rome and Roman Patronage (WB 31.8 and WB 31.9) or

    C) complete any other outstanding work that you owe me: i.e. Jerry: your project :)

    D)  Retrieve and Save your Log-in Name and Password for Quia.com. I have had them mail it to your student email address.  You will need that information next Tuesday for your Test.
